Analisis Jaringan Komunikasi Petani Karet Pola Swadaya Di Desa Lubuk Terentang Kecamatan Gunung Toar Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is describing the characteristics of individual farmers, analyzing the communication network of the agents who play a role in spreading information and finding out the personal characteristics of the farmers who are related in forming a communication network. Gunung Toar is a district which is famous for its rubber plantations can be seen from the consistency of its farmers in producing and marketing their products through rubber auctions, Lubuk Terentang is a village which has the best gapoktan in the sub-district. The agents who have a role in spreading information ranging from upstream subsystems to supporting business subsystems and knowing individual characteristics that are most related to farmers' communication networks that are formed in rubber farmers in the Lubuk Terentang Village. The sampling method uses snowball sampling. The results of this study were obtained that the pattern of the communication network formed still looks like a wheel pattern, but has begun to form a communication pattern of all channels. The roles found in the four communication networks studied were star, bridge, cosmopolite, opinion leader, liaison officer and gate keeper. The characteristics of farmers who have a relationship with the communication network are age, education, family responsibilities, farming experience, land area, cosmopolitanism, intensity of counseling, accuracy of extension channels and the number of sources of information.
