Dinamika Populasi Dan Biologi Reproduksi Ikan Tenggiri (Scomberomorus Commersonii) Dan Ikan Parang-Parang (Chirocentrus Dorab) Di Perairan Selat Malaka Kabupaten Bengkalis
Maintaining fish resources for balance and fulfillment of human needs requires proper management of narrow bareed mackerel and wolf herring resources. Marine fisheries resources that are limited and can be damaged require the existence of a sustainable management system model to maintain the availability of these resource stocks.
This study aims to determine and analyze population dynamics including growth and mortality rates of narrow bareed mackerel (S. commersonii) and wolf herring (C. dorab) and to know and analyze reproductive biology which includes gonadal maturity index, fecundity and spawning type of narrow bareed mackerel ( S. commersonii) and wolf herring (C. dorab) in the Straits of Malacca. While the benefits obtained from this research are as information about population dynamics and reproductive biology and can be used as a formula for modeling the management of narrow bareed mackerel and wolf herring in the waters of the Malacca Strait in a precise and directed manner.
The research was conducted in June – August 2020 in the waters of the Malacca Strait. Data collection was carried out using the survey method. Primary data collection includes measurements of fish length and weight. Secondary data collection was carried out by collecting data on the number of fish catches and fishing gear used by fishermen from the Bengkalis Regency Fisheries Service. Literature study was conducted to determine the general condition of the Malacca Strait waters environment in the administrative area of Bengkalis Regency as well as to support in collecting comparative data with previous research.
Based on the length-weight relationship of fish, narrow bareed mackerel and machete fish had a negative allometric growth pattern (b
