Pemberian Pupuk Npk Dan Kompos Sludge Pabrik Kelapa Sawit Dengan Aktivator Em4 Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Var Saccharata Sturt)
ABSTRACT
The research aimed to increase the production of maize on marginal soil which have low soil fertility. The addition of NPK fertilizer and palm oil mill sludge compost with EM4 activator is an alternative way to improve the fecundity of marginal soil. The research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from March to June 2021. The field experiment was carried out under a completely randomized design with 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications consisted of 27 plot units in the form of a 3 x 3 factorial. In the experiment, each plot consisted of 20 plants, 5 plants as a sample, so the total was 540 plants. The first factor was NPK fertilizer (N), which consisted of 3 levels, namely: N1 = 100 kg.ha-1 NPK fertilizer (30 g per plot), N2 = 150 kg.ha-1 NPK fertilizer (45 g per plot), N3 = 200 kg.ha-1 NPK fertilizer (60 g per plot). The second factor was palm oil mill sludge (S), consisted of: S0 = No compost sludge and no EM4, S1 = 20 ton.ha-1 (6 kg per plot) sludge compost, S2 = 20 ton.ha-1 sludge compost + EM4 (6 kg per plot). The results of this research showed that the combination of 200 kg.ha-1 NPK fertilizer and 20 ton. ha-1 sludge compost + EM4 had more optimal growth and production of sweet maize plants compared to other treatments.
