Pemberian Pupuk Kompos Kotoran Kambing Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Dua Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium Ascalonicum L.) Dataran Rendah

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of goat dung compost fertilizer on Lokananta shallot varieties and Bima Brebes shallot varieties and to obtain the best dose of goat dung compost fertilizer for the growth and production of both varieties. This research was carried out at UPT Experimental Gardens, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from February 2021 to April 2021. This study is a non-factorial experiment arranged according to a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatment tested in this study was goat manure compost (P) which consisted of 4 doses, namely P1 = 10 ton.ha-1 (2 kg of beds), P2 = 20 ton.ha-1 (4 kg of beds), P3 = 30 ton.ha-1 (6 kg of beds), P4 = 40 ton.ha-1 (8 kg of beds). The varieties used in this study, namely V1 = Lokananta and V2 = Bima Brebes. Of the 4 treatments which were repeated 3 times, resulting in 12 experimental units in each of the varieties studied. Each experimental unit consisted of 50 shallot plants and five of them were taken randomly for the sample plants. The variables observed consisted of: plant height (cm), number of leaves per clump (strands), number of tubers per clump (tubers), fresh weight of tubers per clump (g), dry weight of tubers suitable for storage (g), and tuber diameter (mm). The results showed that in Lokananta variety, goat dung compost fertilizer had a significant effect on wet weight of tubers per clump, dry weight of tubers suitable for storage, and tuber diameter but had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves and number of tubers. In the Bima Brebes variety, goat dung compost fertilizer had a significant effect on plant height, wet weight of tubers per clump, dry weight of tubers suitable for storage but had no significant effect on number of leaves, number of tubers, and tuber diameter.
