Sifat Fisika Tanah Dystrudepts Di Bawah Tegakan Kelapa Sawit Yang Diaplikasikan Kompos Tkks Serta Kombinasinya Dengan Pupuk Majemuk (Kcamgs)
ABSTRACT
The extensification of oil palm that occurs every year causes the suitable land area for oil palm growth to dwindle, thus encouraging farmers to extend land on sub-optimal land, one of which is Dystrudepts land. Dystrudepts has many problems, especially on the physical properties. This study aims to evaluate the effect of applying oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) compost and its combination with compound fertilizer (KCaMgS) on improving the physical properties of Dystrudepts under oil palm stands. This research was conducted in Petapahan Village, Kampar and soil analysis was conducted at Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was conducted experimentally using a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments namely compound fertilizer (KCaMgS) 2.1 kg per plant, 3.5 kg per plant, 4.9 kg per plant and the combination of each doses with OPEFB compost. The data were analyzed using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and to determine differences of the treatment mean were analyzed using Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% of significance level. The results showed that the application of compound fertilizer (KCaMgS) combined with OPEFB compost at a depth of 0-20 cm after 4 months of treatment was able to improve C-Organic and soil physical properties (bulk density, particle density¸ total pore spaces, field water content, water holding capacity, permeability and infiltration rate) compared to before treatment.
