Seleksi Genotipe Padi Lokal Yang Toleran Terhadap Cekaman Salinitas Pada Fase Bibit Melalui Metode Kultur Nutrisi
ABSTRACT
Rice development on saline soils is still constrained due to limited varieties suitable for development in saline areas in an effort to improve salinity tolerant varieties. This research aims to determine the effect of NaCl and several genotypes on salinity stress of rice plants in the seedling phase and to obtain local rice genotypes from Siak Regency that are tolerant to salinity stress using the nutrient culture method. This research used a split plot design. The main plot is NaCl which consisted of two levels, namely 0 mM and 120 mM. The sub-plots consisted of 13 genotypes of rice consisting of eight local genotypes, namely: UR 68, UR 69, UR 70, UR 71, UR 72, UR 73, UR 74, UR 75, UR 76, IR 29, Pokkali, Inpara 34, dan Inpara 5. Observed parameters were genotype tolerance level, seedling height, number of leaves, root length, shoot wet weight, shoot dry weight, root wet weight and root dry weight. The results showed that the application of 120 mM NaCl significantly reduced all the tested parameters compared to no application of NaCl to several rice genotypes. The UR 68 and UR 72 genotypes showed the smallest percentage decrease in all parameters tested and were significantly different from the other genotypes. Based on the research that have been carried out, there are two genotypes that are tolerant to salinity stress, namely UR 68 and UR 72, seven genotypes that are sensitive to salinity, namely genotypes UR 69, UR 70, UR 71, UR 73, UR 74, UR 75, UR 76.
