Seleksi Genotipe Padi Lokal Yang Toleran Terhadap Salinitas Pada Fase Pembibitan Dengan Metode Kultur Hara
ABSTRACT
Using tolerant varieties is the most effective way to utilize the potential of saline soils, however, the number of varieties and germplasm as gene donors for saline tolerance is very limited. This research aims to determine the tolerance of several local rice genotypes from Siak Regency to salinity stress in the nursery phase. This research used a split plot design. The main plot is NaCl which consisted of two levels, namely 0 mM and 120 mM. Subplots consisted 14 genotypes rice consisting of ten local genotypes and three tolerant control genotypes, namely Pokkali, Inpari 35, Inpara 5 and one sensitive control genotype, namely IR 29. Observed parameters were genotype tolerance level, seedling height, root length, number of leaves, shoot wet weight, root wet weight, shoot dry weight and root dry weight. The results showed that the application of NaCl at a concentration of 120 mM markedly reduced all the tested parameters compared to no application of NaCl for several rice genotypes, there is one test genotype that is tolerant to salinity, namely UR 60. Five genotypes are moderately tolerant, namely UR 61, UR 62, UR 63, UR 65 and UR 66. Four genotypes are sensitive, namely UR 57, UR 58, UR 59 and UR 64. The UR 60 genotype showed the same growth as the tolerant control genotype on all observed parameters and could grow under stress NaCl at a concentration 120 mM stress for 14 days.
