Respon Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair (Poc) Urine Gajah Pada Medium Gambut Terhadap Pertumbuhan Semai Gaharu (Aquilaria Malaccensis)
ABSTRACT
Aquilaria malaccensis is one of the timber forest products containing mastic which has high economic value. The decline in the Aquilaria malaccensis population has triggered an increase in the cultivation of gaharu by the community. Aquilaria malaccensis cultivation in Riau Province with peat soil types often experiences problems, where peat is marginal land for agriculture because of its low fertility rate, so fertilization is necessary to increase soil fertility. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving elephant urine POC and the best concentration of elephant urine POC in peat medium on the growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The data obtained was then analyzed for variance using SPSS seedlingsoftware and further tested using the DNMRT test with a level of 5%. Giving elephant urine POC affects the growth of seedlings Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings. The best concentration of elephant urine liquid organic fertilizer (POC) to stimulate the growth of Aquilaria malaccens seedlings on peat medium is a concentration of 30% (G3 treatment) with a yield of 90% survival, an increase in seedling height of 2,55 cm, an increase in seedling diameter of 0,37 mm, weight plant dry 0,61 g and top root ratio 3,67.
