Karakterisasi Kematangan Gambut Pada Berbagai Penggunaan Lahan Di Semenanjung Kampar
ABSTRACT
The conversion of peat swamp forests into various land uses followed by the construction of canals causes the peat to mature more quickly. This study aims to determine the characteristics of peat maturity in various land uses in the Kampar Peninsula. The research was conducted on six land uses, namely mixed garden, oil palm, acacia plantations, open land, peat swamp scrub and primary peat swamp forest. There were 18 drilling observation points, at each point three soil samples were taken at a depth of 0-50 cm, 100-150 cm and 300-350 cm. The number of samples amounted to 54 samples. The research was carried out for six months from March to October 2022. The method used is the peatland survey method. The parameters observed were fiber content, C-organic, N-total, bulk density and C/N ratio. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and correlation. The results showed that the maturity level of peat in various land uses was classified as hemic. Fiber content did not show any relationship with C-organic, N-total and bulk density. The increase in the C/N ratio is in line with the increase in organic C and decreases with the increase in total N.
