Keanekaragaman Plankton Di Sungai Kampar Desa Kuala Terusan Kecamatan Pangkalan Kerinci Kabupaten Pelalawan Sebagai Buku Saku Biologi Sma Kelas X

Plankton are creatures (plants and animals) whose lives float or float in water that
is washed away by currents. This study aims to determine the diversity of plankton in the
Kampar river, Kuala Terusan Village. This research was conducted in August-September
2023. Plankton sampling uses the filtering method with plankton net. Sampling was
carried out at 3 observation stations with 3 sampling at each station. The results of the
plankton diversity research were compiled into a pocket book that was used as a learning
resource with stages namely Define, Design and Development. The results of observation
found that the composition of phytoplankton species in the waters of the Kampar river
was found to be 5 classes, 15 types and 273 individuals and zooplankton were found in 2
classes of 2 types and 14 individuals. phytoplankton diversity ranged from 2.38-2.72 and
zooplankton diversity was 0.69 at station III and 0.67 at station II. The temperature in the
waters of the Kampar river ranges from 28-30oC, in these waters there are so that the
current is only at 0.4-0.7m/s. The brightness level at each observation point ranged from
45-70cm, as well as the pH of the water ranged from 6.10-6.90 and dissolved oxygen
ranging from 6.1-6.15 mg/l. Based on the diversity index, the Kampar river has a
moderate level of diversity. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that
various plankton species were found at the level of species biodiversity with a total of 18
species from 7 families with the largest number of phytoplankton species in the family
Chlorophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Cyanophyceae and in the most zooplankton in the
family Crustacea and Branchiopoda. The analysis of the potential of plankton diversity in
the Kampar river, Kuala Terusan Village can be used as a pocket book design on the
diversity material of class X Phase E of SMA odd semester.
