ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the demand for Peranakan Etawa (PE) goat milk in the livestock industry of Kampung Rempak, Siak Sub-district, with a case study at the Amanah Mitra Usaha Cooperative. The research employs a descriptive analysis method, which seeks to explain the factors influencing the demand for PE goat milk based on data collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to consumers. The results indicate that the demand for PE goat milk is influenced by several key factors, including the price of goat milk, the price of cow’s milk as a substitute good, consumer income, taste preferences, and expectations about future conditions. Most consumers regularly purchase PE goat milk for health reasons, despite its relatively high price. A total of 59.38% of respondents cited health benefits as the main reason for consumption. Additionally, 75% felt that their income was sufficient to buy goat's milk regularly. Consumer loyalty toward goat milk remains strong, even when cow’s milk is more affordable. These findings provide valuable insights for farmers and cooperatives to improve their marketing and distribution strategies for PE goat milk. Moreover, government institutions and relevant stakeholders can utilize the results of this study to support the development of the PE goat farming industry, thereby enhancing farmers' welfare and meeting the growing market demand.
