pengembangan e-modul menulis teks biografi berbantuan canva siswa sekolah menengah atas
Writing biographical texts remains a challenge for high school students, primarily due to low motivation and the lack of engaging learning media. Conventional teaching methods often fail to encourage students to write creatively and structurally. Thus, there is a need for an innovative and interactive learning tool. Canva, as a visual design platform, holds great potential for developing accessible and visually appealing e-modules.
This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a Canva-assisted e-module for teaching biographical text writing in improving the writing skills of tenth-grade high school students. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects consisted of two classes: an experimental class using the e-module and a control class using conventional methods. Data were collected through expert validation, practicality questionnaires, and writing tests (pretest and posttest). Statistical analysis included t-tests after conducting normality and homogeneity tests.
The e-module developed was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation. Writing test results showed a significant improvement in students’ writing abilities in the experimental class compared to the control class. The t-test confirmed that the Canva-assisted e-module had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. This e-module is not only effective but also practical and well- suited for integration into Indonesian language instruction. It is recommended that teachers adopt interactive e-modules to foster literacy and enhance students' writing skills.
