Peran Opinion Leader Dalam Pengembangan Usaha Budidaya Perikanan Di Desa Koto Mesjid Kecamatan XIII Koto Kampar Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau

The majority of economic activities that tend to be engaged in by the people of Koto Mesjid Village today are as Patin fish farmers. From the beginning of its history, the development of Patin fish farming in Koto Mesjid Village certainly cannot be separated from the efforts of community leaders in saving the economy of the village community itself. These community leaders are people who are able to lead in finding new ideas and are able to influence the opinions of others. People who have the ability to influence others like that are called opinion leaders. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with 5 informants. The types of data collected include primary and secondary data. This data was obtained from in-depth interviews using questionnaires and data from village government institutions. The results of the study are 1) Opinion leaders in Koto Mesjid Village named Mr. Suhaimi who has several main characteristics including charisma, charm, expertise in the field of fisheries and good communication skills. 2) The fisheries cultivation business developed by opinion leaders in Koto Mesjid Village is fish seeding, fish farming, independent feed production, post-harvest fish processing, fisheries training center (P2MKP) and fisheries education tourism. 3) Opinion leaders in Koto Mesjid Village carry out their roles as initiators, motivators, facilitators and connectors and carry out all the functions of opinion leaders starting from the functions of initiation, membership, representation, organization, integration, internal information management and rewards. The conclusion is that Mr. Suhaimi plays a role as an opinion leader or pioneer in the development of fisheries businesses in Koto Mesjid Village which influences the opinions and behavior of the village community.
