Persepsi Perempuan Lajang Terhadap Pernikahan Di Kelurahan Maharatu Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai Kota Pekanbaru
The decline in the number of marriages in the city of Pekanbaru in recent years has become an interesting social phenomenon to study, especially among single women. Changes in mindset, lifestyle, and life priorities are factors that are suspected to influence the decision to decide on marriage. This research was carried out in Maharatu Village, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study is to find out how single women's perception of the ideal age of marriage and the factors that affect it. The researcher used a quantitative method of descriptive type. The population in this study is unmarried single women aged 26–29 years, totaling 623 people. The research sample was taken as many as 86 respondents from the total population. The data collection technique was carried out through a questionnaire (questionnaire). The results show that 1). Most of the respondents' perceptions are that they choose to postpone marriage, because the motivation of single women is high in postponing marriage and having bad experiences so that single women postpone their marriage. 2). The main factors that affect the perception of single women are financial condition, career, and narcissistic egocentrism. Meanwhile, the freedom factor has a relatively low influence on decisions for reasons for postponing marriage. These findings suggest that single women's top priorities tend to be focused on economic stability and self-development, while the desire to maintain personal freedom is not a dominant factor in their perception of marriage.
