ABSTRACT
Infrastructure development, high-rise buildings, bridges, highways, toll roads, housing and so on require cement mixers (Molen). For small-scale construction such as casting house floors, terraces, bathrooms, cement mixing is usually done manually (using a hoe) which requires manpower/workers and a long time and increased costs for workers' wages. The use of a 25 kg type cement mixer priced at 5-8 million rupiah is still too expensive for the community, so modifications need to be made so that the price is affordable. The modifications made are changing the mixing tube from a steel plate to a used plastic drum sold in the lower market of Pekanbaru City and changing the 5.5 HP generator drive to a drive using an electric motor. The purpose of modifying this cement mixer machine is to make a 20kg type cement mixer in the hope of reducing the price and operational costs of cement mixing. The mixer is made by changing the mixing tube from a steel plate to a 120 liter plastic drum using a 1 HP electric motor as a replacement for the 5.5 HP generator. To increase the driving power, the load is reduced with a 1:40 gearbox. The result of making a 20 kg type cement mixer, namely the cement mixer machine is able to mix cement until it is evenly mixed in 7 minutes, with a rotation of 37 rpm, a maximum load of 130 kg, 82% power saving, and the price of the tool is 50% more economical from 5-8 million to 3 million.
