Keanekaragaman Plankton Sebagai Bioindikator Kualitas Perairan Sungai Sail, Pekanbaru
The Sail River plays an important role as a natural water catchment area sourced from the surrounding environment. Sail River is polluted due to high activity and produces waste that has an impact on plankton diversity in it. This study aims to analyze plankton diversity and physico-chemical conditions of Sail River waters. The research was conducted in Sail River, Pekanbaru in December 2024-February 2025.. Research was conducted by purposive sampling involving three stations (Station 1 = Jalan Parit Indah, Station 2 = Jalan Akasia 1, Station 3 = Jalan Satria). The results of research showed that the diversity of plankton in the Sail River was in the medium category. Station 1 (H'=2.37; N=2344; e=0.94; D=0.1; X=1), Station 2 (H'=2; N=2244.44; e=0.91; D=0.15; X=0.62), Station 3 (H'=1.77; N=1300; e=0.85; D=0.14; X=-0.75).
The results of plankton identification obtained 18 species of plankton consisting of nine classes in the following order: Bacillariophyceae (5 species), Chlorophyceae (6 species), Trebouxiophyceae (1 species), Cyanophyceae (1 species), Euglenophycaea (1 species), Dinophyceae (1 species), Crustaceae (1 species) Bdelloideae (1 species) and Eurotatoria (1 species). The physico-chemical conditions of the waters in the Sail River at stations 1 and 2 are still in accordance with the quality standards while station 3 has parameters that are not in accordance. Station 1 temperature = 29.5; DO = 5.1; pH = 6.6; brightness = 27.2), station 2 (temperature = 29; DO = 4.4; pH = 6.5; brightness = 17.5) and station 3 (temperature = 27.6; DO = 2.5; pH = 6.3; brightness = 13.1).
Key findings: Bioindicator, diversity, plankton, Sail River.
