Pengembangan Modul Ajar Topik Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (Spldv) Berbasis Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (Rme) Untuk Meningkatkan Kecakapan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Peserta Didik Fase D Kelas VIII SMP
This research was motivated by the low level of students’ mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly in the topic of systems of linear equations in two variables. This low proficiency is attributed to students' tendencies to memorize formulas, teacher-centered learning processes, limited exposure to problem-based questions, and the lack of learning tools that support the development of mathematical problem-solving skills. One approach that can be used to improve these skills is the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach.
The RME approach begins with real-world problems relevant to students' daily lives, enabling them to draw on their prior knowledge and experiences. Students are then guided to apply mathematical concepts to new real-life contexts using models they construct based on these experiences. This approach fosters students' ability to solve problems, thereby enhancing their mathematical problem-solving skills. Successful implementation of RME, however, requires teacher readiness in preparing, designing, and managing the learning process. For this reason, a teaching module is needed as a guide for teachers in classroom instruction. Thus, it is necessary to develop a teaching module that is valid, practical, and effective to support teaching implementation.
This study aims to develop a teaching module on the topic of systems of linear equations in two variables based on the RME approach to support the development of students' mathematical problem-solving skills in Phase D (Grade VIII), ensuring the module is valid, practical, and effective. This is a development research using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observations, tests, and interviews.....
