This research aims to find out the Role of Employees in The Management and Development of Secondary Cooperative Business in Riau Province. This study used primary data, namely data obtained from a set of questionnaire and interview to employees of secondary cooperative bussiness in Riau Province. The secondary data obtained related to the literature which were also related to the researcher. This research was conducted in 6 Secondary Cooperation, namely The Joint Employee Cooperation of the Republic of Indonesia-Riau (GKPRI-Riau), the Cooperative Center of Riau Provincial of Unit Village (Puskud-Riau), the Retired Cooperative Center and Wara Kawuri ABRI (Puskoppabri-Riau), the Indonesian Air Force Cooperative Center (Puskopau-Pekanbaru), the Employee Cooperative Center of the Republic of Indonesia-Pekanbaru (PKPRI-Pekanbaru), and the Cooperative Staff Center of the Republic of Indonesia-Kampar Regency (PKPRI-Kab). While the research respondents were as many as 15 administrators and 18 employees. The analytical method used in this study is qualitative.
The results showed that 1) The role of employees in the management of the secondary cooperative business of Riau Province amounted to 23.3% and was in the category of "Low", 2) As for in the field of business development, the role of employees amounted to 34.6% and was in the category of "Low", 3) The level of secondary cooperative development in Riau Province measured in the remaining business results, own capital, total assets, and business volume was in low category , and 4) There is a linear connection of employee roles in the field of cooperative business to financial performance.
