Pengembangan Komik Cerita Rakyat “Batang Tuaka” Sebagai Bahan Bacaan

This research was motivated by observations on the availability of reading materials to support literacy activities in elementary schools, where the provision of books in schools has not been new variations so that children are less interested in reading books that only focus on long texts. Therefore, development is needed to increase the availability and enrich reading materials so as to give new variations in improving literacy activities in elementary schools. The purpose of this research is to develop comics, knowing the assessment of comic validation and comic trials. This type of research is Research and Developmen (R&D) using ADDIE model that has five stages, namely analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the results of research on this development produces products in the form of folklore comics "Batang Tuaka" as reading materials to support literacy activities in elementary schools. From the development results get an assessment of the language validator and design validator with a percentage of 86.5% with a very valid category. And from the test results get a very good response with a percentage of 96%. From the results of this research, folklore comic "Batang Tuaka" can be used as reading material to support literacy activities in elementary school.
