Analisis Kebulatan (Roundness) Pada Mesin Roundness Tester Machine Menggunakan Aplikasi Matlab
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the roundness of shafts using a Roundness Tester Machine with the assistance of MATLAB to improve measurement efficiency and accuracy. Measurements were performed on a test specimen in the form of an aluminum shaft with a length of 200 mm and a diameter of 24 mm, with data collected at 36 points at 10° intervals. Data were automatically gathered using a digital dial indicator connected to an Arduino, and then processed through a MATLAB application. Two measurement methods, namely the ring method and the spiral method, were applied to obtain roundness parameters such as runout, roundness deviation, concentricity, and theta value. The study results indicate that the ring method produced a runout of 0.0537 mm and a roundness deviation of 0.087 mm, while the spiral method showed a runout of 0.0471 mm and a roundness deviation of 0.021 mm. Based on the analysis of polar graphs and numerical calculations, the MATLAB application proved capable of presenting the measurement data simultaneously in the form of graphs and tables, thereby offering an efficient alternative for roundness testing.
