Makna Simbolik Pada Kesenian Kuda Lumping Pangeran Kuda Putih Di Desa Perkebunan Kanopan Ulu Kecamatan Kualuh Hulu

Kuda lumping art is an art that originates from Java. Kuda lumping art combines dance and music. and drama using woven attributes shaped like horses. In the Kuda Lumping art, there are symbolic aspects which have a certain meaning through the attributes used and the dance, however, the procession and attributes used by the Kuda Lumping Prince Kuda Putih art in the Kanopan Ulu Plantation Village, Kualuh Hulu District experienced a shift and some attributes were removed due to factors certain. This research aims to analyze the meaning of symbolic situations, the meaning of social interaction products, and the interpretative meaning of the art of Kuda Lumping Pangeran Kuda Putih.

The research method uses descriptive qualitative methods. The theory used in this research uses Herbert Blummer's symbolic interaction theory. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The technique for determining informants uses purposive techniques and six informants. The data validity checking technique uses the triangulation method.

The results of this research show that the meaning of symbolic situations in the Kuda Lumping Pangeran Kuda Putih art in Kanopan Ulu Plantation Village, Kualuh Hulu District consists of physical objects, namely physical objects, namely the attributes used in performances and social objects, namely mantras and movements performed in performances. The meaning of social interaction products consists of the meaning of each informant. The meaning of interpretation includes open actions, namely actions that can be observed directly in the form of artistic expressions and closed actions, namely actions that are not immediately visible and are not fully realized by other people.
