Analisis Struktur Dan Perilaku Pasar Mobil Di Indonesia (2017-2024)
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the market structure and behavior of the car
industry in Indonesia in the 2017-2024 period. The market structure is analyzed
using market share indicators, concentration ratio (CR4), Herfindahl-Hirschman
index (IHH), and Gini coefficient to measure the level of competition and market
concentration. Meanwhile, market behavior is analyzed through price and nonprice
strategies implemented by car companies in Indonesia. The population in
this study includes all car brands registered with GAIKINDO. The data used is
secondary data from 2017-2024, and is analyzed descriptively quantitatively
using the Structure-Conduct-Performance (SCP) approach. The results showed
that the car industry in Indonesia has a tight oligopoly market structure
dominated by a handful of large brands. In the face of competition, companies
implement various strategies, both in the form of competitive pricing and nonprice
strategies such as product differentiation, promotion, distribution, and
vertical and horizontal integration. This shows that competition in the Indonesian
car industry is not only determined by market forces, but also by the ability of
companies to adjust their behavior to maintain their position amidst high
competition.
