ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to overcome problems in the classroom, the
problems were found in class X IPA.I SMA Negeri 2 Tualang. One of the subjects
of physical education, sports and health taught in schools is the material of selfdefense,
pencak silat, this sport is a typical sport owned by Indonesia and is
recognized as a culture. The material of pencak silat contains basic attitudes, basic
movements, and basic techniques, in practice students have difficulty combining
basic attitudes and basic techniques into basic pencak silat movements or
commonly called the eight corners of the wind. This is a movement to move or
change the position of the student's body (locomotor). The sample of this study was
36 students consisting of 17 boys and 19 girls. The type of classroom action
research requires a syllabus instrument and a teaching module for pencak silat
material. The efforts made are learning basic movement material through audiovisual
media and the results obtained before the researcher conducted the research
(pretest) the average student score was 52.8 or classically the class had a
completeness of 3%. Cycle I averaged 60.4 with classical completion of 17%, cycle
II averaged 69.1 with classical completion of 42%.
