Pemanfaatan Tepung Maggot (Hermetia Illucens) Difermentasi Menggunakan Aspergillus Niger Dalam Pakan Untuk Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Gurami (Osphronemus Goramy)
Thegiant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) is a freshwater fish species of high economic value. however, its growth rate is relatively slow. to accelerate its growth performance requires high-quality feed that incorporates locally ingredients as a protein sources, such as maggot flour. Maggot (Hermetia illucens) meal. Maggot meal contains high crude protein (46.15%) but also has a relatively high crude fiber content (13.20%), which may reduce digestibility. Therefore, fermentation using Aspergillus niger was applied to improve its digestibility fish. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of fermented maggot meal on the growth performance, feed utilization, and survival of giant gourami fingerlings. The experiment was conducted from March to June 2025 at the Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Riau University. A completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, five treatments, and three replications was used. The treatments consisted of feeds containing 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) fermented maggot meal. Fish with an average initial weight of 2.93 ± 4.00 g were stocked into 15 net cages (1 × 1 × 1 m³) at a density of 25 fish per cage. The fish were fed test feeds at 10% of the wight of fish with a frequency weight, 3 times daily (08:00, 13:00, and 17:00) for 56 days. Feed digestibility meansurements was assessed using an aquarium measuring 60 × 40 × 40 cm³ with a densely stocked of 10 fish each. The test feed added Cr2O3 as much as 0.5% of the total feed. The results indicated that the inclusion of 75% fermented maggot meal yielded the best outcomes, with feed digestibility of 74.36%, protein digestibility of 88.76%, feed efficiency of 46.10%, protein retention of 33.38%, specific growth rate of 3.29% per day, and a survival rate of 100%. the water quality parameters remained within optimal ranges: temperature 25.2–29.3°C, pH 6.2–7.5, and dissolved oxygen (DO) 4.3–5.0 mg/L.
