tingkat literasi keuangan digital dan pengaruhnya terhadap perilaku konsumtif serta penggunaan e-money pada mahasiswa pendidikan ekonomi di kota pekanbaru
This study aims to analyze the level of digital financial literacy among
university students and its influence on consumptive behavior and the use of emoney.
The research involved 210 students from the Economics Education Study
Program across two universities in Pekanbaru City. A quantitative approach was
employed using a survey method, and data were analyzed using Partial Least
Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).
The findings show that students’ digital financial literacy is at a moderate
level (average score: 2.77). Digital financial literacy has a significant positive
effect on e-money usage (β = 0.452, p < 0.001), especially in terms of trust and
risk awareness. Students with higher digital financial literacy tend to use e-money
more frequently for daily transactions. Conversely, digital financial literacy does
not have a significant direct impact on consumptive behavior (β = 0.118, p =
0.170). Consumptive behavior is more strongly influenced by external factors
such as peer pressure and digital promotions.
The study also found no significant differences in the relationships among
variables based on gender, university, or academic semester. These findings
suggest that improving digital financial literacy must be complemented by
behavioral interventions to regulate digital consumption tendencies. The study
provides practical implications for educational institutions, regulators, and
fintech providers to design contextual and educative financial literacy programs.
