This study aims to describe the figurative language contained in Surat Kapal. The method of data collection in this study uses the reading and note-taking technique. The data in this study are in the form of Surat Kapal poems. The source of data in this study is the book "Kumpulan Naskah Syair Adat Pernikahan Orang Melayu Indragiri" by Sumadi SAM published by the Department of Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism of Indragiri Hulu Regency in 2010. The results of this study include a stylistic study in figurative language which found 130 comparative figures of speech data and 45 linking figures of speech data in the Surat Kapal poem text, namely the form of comparative figures of speech in the form of metaphor as many as 104 data, the form of simile as many as 8 data, the form of personification as many as 15 data and the form of allegory as many as 3 data, the linking figures of speech in the form of metonymy as many as 16 data and the form of synecdoche as many as 29 data.
