Karakterisasi Karbon Aktif Dari Ampas Tebu Dengan Variasi Daya Iradiasi Gelombang Mikro Untuk Penyerapan Logam Berat Di Sungai Siak
The successful research has conducted to produce activated carbon from sugarcane bagasse which achieved by carbonization process and chemical activation using ZnCl2 as activator with microwave assisted process with irradiations power were varied by 540 watt, 630 watt, and 720 watt. The characterization of physical properties using X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Microscop Electron, Energy Dispersif X-Ray and Adsoprtion capacity of heavy metals. Yield activated carbon 66,56%, 54,88%, and 44,28% for each variation of the power irradiation. Data of X-rays diffraction indicated that all the activated carbon were in a semicrystalline form, with the presence narrow peak (002) and (100) showed by 2???????? at 22,108o, and 43,686o. The analysis of SEM showed by the increase of the irradiation power would produce more pores and more regular pore structure. The adsorption of active carbon toward heavy metal 130,26% Pb, 20,98% Fe, and 12,42% Cu. Overall the calculated and analyzed results showed that the variation of the microwave irradiation influenced the qualities of the activated carbon.
