Variasi Suhu Karbonisasi Pada Pembuatan Elektroda Carbon Paper Dari Kulit Pisang Lilin Untuk Aplikasi Sel Superkapasitor
Synthesis of carbon electrode of supercapasitor has been done based on candle banana peel with carbonization temperature varied at 500oC, 600oC, 700oC and 800oC with each sample code of S5, S6, S7 and S8. Green carbon paper sample of banana peel was carbonized at a furnace with N2 irrigated by using multilevel warming temperature profile of 285oC and it was holded for 1 hour, then proceed to the desired carbonization temperature. The physical activation process was done using CO2 for 2 hours. Measurement of physical properties were performed in the form of density test, surface area and the crystals parameters. Density measurement was done by comparing the mass and volume of the electrode, surface area test was done with N2 adsorption method, while the crystal parameters test was perfomed by using X-ray diffraction method. Measurement of supercapasitor cell capacitive properties was done by CV UR-Rad ER 5841. The result of the density measured, was found to be optimum on S5 sample, which was 0.653 gr/cm3 and the minimum density was found on S8 at as low as 0.620 gr/cm3. It was shown that the increased the temperature of sample, the lower to density. The surface area of BET method obtained the surface area of sample S5 was 581.394 x104 cm2/g and 393.333 x104 cm2/g for sample S8. The best specific capacitance value was found from the cell of S5 which was 68.312 Fg-1 and the lowest value was obtained for S8 at 33.39 Fg-1. The results of physical properties and electrochemical measurements showed that high carbonization temperature affected the specific capacitance value of electrode carbon paper. The value of specific capacitance decreased with increasing of carbonization temperature on carbon electrodes.
