Efek Variasi Massa Dari Biomassa Limbah Tempurung Kelapa Terhadap Laju Penurunan Kadar Air Sebagai Fungsi Waktu Hasil Pengeringan Buah Pinang Dengan Alat Pengering Tipe Kabinet
The research was conducted to determine the rate of decline in the water levels of betel nut use biomass energy coconut shel. The system used a dryer drying cabinet -type measuring 1.15 m long, 1 m wide, 1.17 m high, which was composed of two levels of drying rack, 2 pieces drum thermal energy source and chimney. The heat source came from burning biomass drying coconut shell in the drum. Dryer room walls made of plywood with a thickness of 0.08 m and were coated zinc plate was painted black with a thickness of 0.01 m. Biomass was varied by 5 kg, 7 kg, 9 kg and 11 kg. Samples were dried areca nut fruit. Drying was done during 100 minutes with 10 minutes of observation time interval. The decline in water levels obtained from drying in the amount of 4.57 % rack 1 and rack 2 by 5.08 % to 5 kg of biomass. While biomass 7 kg on the shelf 1 reduction in the moisture content was 12.76 % and shelving 2 amounted to 15.81 % , for biomass 9 kg on the shelf 1 reduction in the moisture content was 17.89 % and 20.91 % of the rack 2 , and for biomass 11 kg on the shelf 1 reduction in the moisture content was 21.56 % and the rack 2 at 23.14 %.
