Hubungan Intensitas Nyeri Dengan Kualitas Hidup Lansia Penderita Gout Arthritis Di Desa Tanjungsamak Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Tanjungsamak
Gout arthritis is a degenerative disease caused by accumulation of acid or urate crystals in or around the body joints which cause various manifestations effect, one of them is pain. Pain can affect the quality of sufferers’ live. This study aims to determine the relationship between pain intensity and quality of life for adults through gout arthritis sufferers. The research design was descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. The sampling method was non probability sampling with purposive sampling approach, with 89 respondents of sample based on the inclusion criteria. The results found that the samples between 60-69 years old were 73.0%, female was 55.1%, farmers was 34.8%, Elementary School graduates was 73.0%, muslim was 97.8%, and 71.9% were married. The average of adults’ experience pain intensity was 5.79, and the average pain intensity of adults with poor quality of life was 6.35. T Independent result showed p value (0.001) < (0.05). It can be concluded that there was a relationship between pain intensity and the adult quality of life of adults with gout arthritis. The higher pain intensity, the worse the quality of life of the sufferer. It is expected that nurses in Puskesmas can provide more promotive efforts or health education about gout arthritis.
