This research analysis the characteristics of the respondents who borrowed
money from the Urban Village - Savings and Loans Economic Business (UEK-SP) in
the Lima Puluh Pekanbaru City district to determine the role of the Savings and Loan
Village Economic Business UEK-SP) on increasing community income in Lima Puluh
District Pekanbaru City. The type of data used in this study consists of primary data
and secondary data. The population included in the study were all residents who
were members and received loans from UEK-SP in the Lima Puluh district,
representing 876 people. The sampling method uses the formula that Frank Lynch
uses in Sugiarto (2001), the error limit is 15% due to the large population, limited
time, costs and distance. The number of samples from the population that were used
as respondents in this study was therefore 41 people. The data analysis method used
in this study used a qualitative descriptive method. The steps taken are preparing a
questionnaire, distributing questionnaires to respondents, analyzing the results of the
questionnaire and making decisions. After the authors have obtained data from the
results of observation and questionnaires, the author analyzes the data collected with
the descriptive method Crosstab (crosstab) presents data in the form of tables.
The results of the study show that: (1) Respondents who borrowed funds from
the UEK-SP office in Lima Puluh sub-district answered ,namely men, ranged from 39
to 45 years. Based on the education senior secondary education level. (2) The Role of
Savings and Loan Village Economic Enterprises (UEK-SP) in increasing community
income, that there is an increase in sales turnover, employment and business profits
after borrowing funds from UEK-SP.
