Tingkat Pengetahuan Dan Sikap Anak Buah Kapal (ABK) Terhadap Tindakan Dalam Menjaga Kelestarian Lingkungan Perairan Sungai Siak
Exploitative behavior of human and does not care about the survival of present and future generations can reduce the quality of the environment, especially resources of river. As one of the parties at the Siak River, the crew requires a good of understanding and attitude about the environment in order to be able to prevent further emergence of Siak River water pollution. The stage of understanding of the parties concerned about environmental sustainability will be linear with their actions. Some parameters that become the reference of crew's understanding of environmental sustainability are crew's knowledge and attitude.
The purposes of this study are to analyze knowledge and crew’s attitudes in maintaining the environmental sustainability of the Siak River waters. This research was carried out in November - December 2018 at the Port of PT. Musim Mas, PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper, PT. Pertamina (TBBM) Sei Siak and Sei Duku Port. As for the research approach used is survey research using questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained were processed using the Guttman Scale.
The results of this study are that most respondents have high knowledge 55 respondents (96.5%). Knowledge was obtained from learning, experience, time and situations used to solve problems, adjust to new situations or as capital to learn other things, that with good knowledge is expected to influence good attitudes and actions, so as to prevent or overcome existing problems.
Most respondents has a positive attitude of 51 respondents (89.5%). Attitude was a part of individual personality and growth and development as there are behavioral patterns that are mental and emotional. Attitudes originate from feelings of like or dislike associated with a person's tendency to respond to something or an object. Attitude is also an expression of values or outlook on life possessed by someone. An attitude can be formed so that the desired behavior or action occurs.
Most respondents have good actions as many as 51 respondents (89.5%). To manifest an attitude, being a real action requires supporting factors or a condition that allows, among other things, action. After someone knows a stimulus, then conducts an assessment or opinion of what is known, the next process was expected to carry out or practice what they know or react to (good value). Notoatmodjo (2007) explains practices or actions divided into three levels according to quality. The first level is when an object or someone has done something but still depends on the demands or use of guidelines. Here ABK can practice how to manage waste in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulations, and so can the KSOP Class III Pekanbaru staff who can provide an assessment according to the knowledge they have acquired in accordance with applicable regulations and certifications they have received.
The level of knowledge of respondents has a moderate relationship to ABK actions. This can be seen from the correlation coefficient of 0.556. The correlation is positive so the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional (+) which means that the higher the knowledge the better the action. Based on these results it can be concluded that the higher a person's knowledge, the better his actions in protecting the environment. From the results of the research that have been obtained, it should be necessary to improve the enforcement of strict rules or laws for crew members (ABK) who dispose of waste / waste into the waters as well as the existence of cooperation between the crew (ABK), KSOP officers (the government) and the company in maintaining the preservation of the aquatic environment.
