In a government organization, the success or failure in carrying out tasks and
administering governance is influenced by leadership, through leadership, and supported by
an adequate organizational capacity. A leader will adopt a leadership style based on their own
abilities and personality, aiming to achieve the goals of the organization or institution. (Arief
Teguh Nugroho, 2018). Employee performance refers to the results of an employee's work, in
terms of both quality and quantity, in completing the tasks assigned by a superior or leader
based on their role within the organization. (Jufrizen, 2018). This study aims to examine how
leadership style and work motivation affect employee performance. The research was
conducted at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau. A quantitative
survey method was used for this study. Data collection was done using questionnaires. The
study population consisted of 135 staff members from the Faculty of Social and Political
Sciences, including civil servants in educational and administrative roles, as well as 50 noncivil
servant (honorary) employees working at the faculty during the 2023-2024 leadership
period. The research utilized the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis technique. The
results of the study answer how leadership style and work motivation influence the performance
of FISIP University of Riau employees. Using Smart PLS with the bootstrapping method, the
findings are as follows Leadership Style and Employee Performance The hypothesis test results
show a path coefficient of 0.247 and a P-Value of 0.046, indicating a significant relationship
between leadership style and employee performance.Work Motivation and Employee
Performance : The hypothesis test results show a path coefficient of 0.592 and a P-Value of
0.000, indicating a strong and significant relationship between work motivation and employee
performance. Conclusion Leadership style and work motivation significantly influence
employee performance.
