Perancangan Panam Youth Center Di Pekanbaru Dengan Penerapan Pendekatan Passive Cooling
ABSTRACT
The growth of the youth population in Indonesia, which is projected to reach 24.6% of the total population in 2024, has created a demand for facilities that support their activities, such as learning, working, and socializing. Pekanbaru, as one of the cities in Indonesia with a significant youth population, faces a growing need for facilities that cater to this demographic. Facilities designed to support youth activities are commonly referred to as Youth Centers. This design aims to optimize comfort within a building to be located in Pekanbaru, specifically in the Panam area, which is characterized by hot weather and relatively high temperatures and humidity. The maximization of building comfort will focus on natural ventilation, or the Passive Cooling concept, which will be implemented as thoroughly as possible to create a comfortable environment. The objective of designing the Youth Center using a Passive Cooling approach is to create an energy-efficient and comfortable facility that supports the concept of sustainable development, so that it can benefit future generations of youth as well.
