Pemanfaatan Akun Instagram@Kuansingbacarito Dalam Membangun Identitas Budaya Lokal Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi
The development of digitalization and social media is changing the way people maintain culture. In the flow of globalization, cultural values are beginning to be eroded, especially among young people. Instagram with its visual content, has the potential to help preserve culture in an interesting and easily accessible way. The purpose of the research is to find out how @kuansingbacarito accounts adjust content, communication, collaboration, and connections in an effort to preserve the local culture of Kuantan Singingi. Based on Chris Heuer's 4C concept, namely Context, Communication, Collaboration, and Connection which is used to analyze communication strategies applied in building cultural connection with the audience. Supported by the New Media Theory of Marshall McLuhan & Dennis McQuail.
This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The research subjects were 7 people, namely 2 @kuansingbacarito account managers, 1 traditional leader, 1 community leader, and 3 followers of @kuansingbacarito accounts determined based on purposive techniques. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The technique for checking the validity of data uses source triangulation.
The results of the study show that the @kuansingbacarito account can increase public awareness of Kuantan Singingi culture through effective digital communication strategies. Interaction with the audience, collaboration with cultural communities, and support from other related parties are the main factors in its success as a cultural education media. However, the challenge faced is how to maintain cultural authenticity amidst the influence of globalization and the ever-growing trend of social media. This study confirms that social media has great potential in preserving local culture, but its usefulness depends on the right communication strategy and continuous innovation in presenting cultural content.
