Perancangan Alat Angkat (Portable Gantry Crane) Heat Exchanger Atomizing Air Precooler Pada Gas Turbine Generator
ABSTRACT
Maintenance and care of machine components in the oil and gas industry is one of the main factors. One of the problems faced in maintenance is the difficulty of lifting and moving the atomizing air precooler heat exchanger on the gas turbine generator because of its position in a narrow space and its weight reaches 600 kg. Therefore, this study aims to design a Portable Gantry Crane that can be used to help the process of lifting and moving these components more effectively and efficiently.
The research methodology includes literature study, data collection through field surveys, design using SolidWorks 2022 software, and structural strength analysis simulation using ANSYS 2020 R1. This design considers several main aspects, such as work area conditions, lifting equipment dimensions, materials used, and supported loads. In this study, three variations of structural designs were tested to determine the most optimal configuration based on calculations of shear stress, normal stress, and deformation.
The design results show that the designed Portable Gantry Crane has dimensions of 150 cm in length, 80 cm in width, and 168.12 cm in total height. The main material used is high carbon steel with H-beam and rectangular square profiles. From the comparative analysis of theoretical and simulation results, it can be concluded that structure 1 is chosen because it has the smallest shear stress, normal stress, and deformation values. This Portable Gantry Crane can be used as an aid in the maintenance process of the atomizing air precooler heat exchanger, so that it can increase work efficiency and safety.
