Studi Komparatif Perencanaan Saluran Drainase Berdasarkan Metode Rasional Dan Model Epa Swmm Di Perumahan Delco Citra Arengka Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
Delco Citra Arengka Housing in Pekanbaru is one of the areas affected by waterlogging during high-intensity rainfall, indicating that the existing drainage system is not functioning optimally. This study aims to redesign the drainage system by comparing two approaches: the empirical method and simulation using EPA SWMM software. The empirical method was used to calculate the design discharge using the rational method, while EPA SWMM simulated the area's hydrological and hydraulic response to design rainfall. The comparison results show that drainage planning using EPA SWMM produces more efficient channel dimensions and better accounts for flow dynamics over time. Based on these findings, the use of simulation software is recommended for residential drainage planning to achieve more accurate and effective outcomes.
