This study aims to 1) determine how high self-efficacy is in students of the
Public Education Study Program, Class of 2022 and 2023, FKIP at the University
of Riau 2) determine how high interpersonal communication is in students of the
Public Education Study Program, Class of 2022 and 2023, FKIP at the University
of Riau 3) determine the effect of self-efficacy on interpersonal communication in
students of the Public Education Study Program, Class of 2022 and 2023, FKIP at
the University of Riau.
This type of research is ex-post facto with a quantitative approach. The
population in this study were students of the Public Education Study Program,
class of 2022 and 2023, totaling 148 students. The sampling technique used
Simple Random Sampling, sampling with this method was because the respondent
population was considered homogeneous, namely students, using the Yamane
formula, the sample became 108 students.
The data collection methods for this study are 1) observation, 2)
questionnaires, and 3) documentation. The research instrument consists of two
questionnaires, namely: interpersonal communication questionnaire and selfefficacy
questionnaire. The writing of the instrument goes through several stages,
namely: 1) analyzing all theories related to the variables to be studied, 2)
compiling indicators for each variable, 3) compiling grids, 4) compiling statement
items and determining measurement scales, 5) instrument trials, 6) item analysis
by testing the validity and reliability of each statement item.

Based on the analysis of demographic factors, the respondent variable
Interpersonal Communication obtained a mean value of 4.16 with a high
interpretation, then the respondent demographic variable Self-Efficacy obtained a
mean value of 4.02 with a high interpretation. So it can be said that the selfefficacy
of the Public Education Study Program Students of Classes 2022 and
2023 FKIP at the University of Riau is quite good. Then based on the descriptive
statistical analysis of each variable, the interpersonal communication variable
obtained a mean value of 4.18 with a high interpretation, and the self-efficacy
variable obtained a mean value of 4.01 with a high interpretation. It can be said
that the interpersonal communication of the 2022 and 2023 FKIP Public
Education Study Program Students at the University of Riau is quite good.
The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of self-efficacy
on interpersonal communication of the Public Education Study Program Students
of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Riau by
20.7% with a low interpretation.
