ABSTRACT
Indonesia's water sports potential is not optimal, as seen from the lack of popularity
of water skiing and wakeboard due to lack of socialization and facilities. PON is a
promotional event, and the debut of water skiing at the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra
PON with international standards is a concern. The competition tests athletes'
technique (jumps, slaloms, tricks) and mentality, with weather challenges and
modern scoring technology. The PON 2024 water skiing bronze medal case study
emphasizes the role of data-driven training, psychological support and technology.
PON 2024 preparation was structured in several stages, including a competition
on Lake Toba. The author's experience, from qualifying to intense training,
illustrates dedication. Focusing on the wakeboard event that assessed style, fierce
competition, and winning bronze taught discipline, mental strength, and team
collaboration. This medal is the beginning for self-development in the national
water sports scene.
