Sintesis zeolit y dari lempung maredan dengan metode hidrotermal melalui variasi rasio si/al serta impregnasi nikel dan kobalt Untuk uji adsorpsi co₂
Maredan clay is a natural material with the potential to be used as a raw material for zeolite synthesis due to its relatively high SiO2 and Al2O3 composition. This study aimed to synthesize zeolite Y from Maredan clay using the hydrothermal method with variations in the Si/Al ratio, as well as to modify the zeolite by impregnated Ni and Co metals. Characterization was performed using XRF, XRD, SEM-EDS, FTIR, and TPD-CO2. The composition of Maredan clay, as determined by XRF analysis showed 33.293% SiO2 and 18.041% Al2O3. The XRD results showed the formation of zeolite Y crystalline structure at Si/Al ratio of 3.5 yielded the highest crystallinity of 99.8%. SEM-EDS and FTIR indicated the impregnation of Ni and Co metals on the surface of zeolite Y, as evidenced by the presence of absorption bands for -ONi and -OCo groups at around 460-560 cm-1. TPD-CO2 revealed the basicity decreased from 0.8673 mmol/g in pure zeolite Y to 0.0047 mmol/g after Ni-Co impregnation, which reflected an enhancement in surface acidity. CO2 adsorption capacity also decreased in line with the reduction in basicity, from 38.1628 mg/g in pure zeolite Y to 0.2056 mg/g after Ni-Co impregnation.
