Pengembangan Etnoparenting Melayu Riau Berbasis Digital Device Untukmeningkatkan Kualitas Parenting Dalam Pengasuhan Anak Usia Dini

Background and Objectives: This research develops an Android-based Riau Malay Ethnoparenting application based on Digital Device (EMERALD). As a means of intervention for the ethnoparenting of Riau Malay Culture, this application is used by parents to improve the quality of parenting in early childhood care. Research method: research and development research with the ADDIE model is a reference in developing the EMERALD application by following the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The trial was carried out in the Kindergarten Laboratory of FKIP Unri on early childhood parents (n=60), namely 30 parents in the control group and 30 parents in the experimental group. Results: The EMERALD app has been validated and rated highly feasible by validators of media experts, material experts and linguists. Meanwhile, the results of the trial show that the EMERALD application, after being tested on parents, both on a limited scale and expanded, turns out to be effective in improving the quality of parental parenting, which can be seen from the results of the effect size calculation carried out on parenting and family adjustment variables, mindful parenting, and the character of the parents. The EMERALD application also has a very good level of practicality because this application can be used easily, can be felt by users, has clear ethnoparenting material, can be used independently and has an attractive appearance. Conclusion: It can be concluded that, in general, parents have a positive experience and feel the benefits of the Riau Malay ethnoparenting application based on digital devices in improving the quality of childcare.
