Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Organik Putri Malu (Mimosa Pudica L.) Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera Frugiperda J. E. Smith) Di Laboratorium
ABSTRACT
The decline in maize production in Riau province is caused by the attack of plant disrupting organisms, namely armyworms (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith). S. frugiperda attacks meize plants in the vegetative phase up to the generative phase. The use of synthetic insecticides can cause negative effects. The solution to reduce the use of synthetic insecticides is to find alternatives such as the use botanical insecticides. Plants that have the potential as botanical insecticides are mimosa plants (Mimosa pudica L.). The research was conducted with the aim of determining the effective concentration of mimosa plants organic extract against to mortality of corn armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith.) in the laboratory conditions. The research was conducted experimentally with a complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replicates. The treatments given were behavioral and morphological changes as well as temperature and humidity. The results showed that giving 1% concentration of organic extract of mimosa plants is an effective concentration to control Spodoptera frugiperda J. E. Smith larvae, because it is able to cause total mortality Keywords: Botanical insecticides, daily mortality, lethal concentration, total mortality
