Estimasi Cadangan Karbon Pada Sedimen Di Ekosistem Mangrove Kecamatan Bukit Batu Kabupaten Bengkalis Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
This research was carried out in December 2021. Sampling and measurement of water quality were
carried out in the Estuary of the Bukit Batu River, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Sample
analysis was continued at the Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Department of Marine Science, Faculty
of Fisheries and Marine Affairs, Riau University. The purpose of this study was to determine the
estimated carbon stock in sediments, the comparison of carbon stocks between transects, and the
relationship between density and carbon stocks in the mangrove area of Muara Sungai Bukit Batu,
Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this research is a survey method.
Environmental parameters measured included mangrove density (ind/ha), water quality, organic
matter content and carbon stock in sediments. Analysis of carbon stock using the loss in ocnition
method. The result of the average value of mangrove density on all transects is 244.445 (ind/ha). The
lowest carbon stock value in sediment is on transect 2 with a medium mangrove density of 299.654
tons/ha. Meanwhile, the highest carbon stock value is on transect 3 with high density mangrove area
with a value of 361.478 tons/ha. The results of a simple linear regression that aims to determine the
relationship between mangrove density and carbon stock show the coefficient of determination R² =
0.0351, which means that 3.51% of the total carbon stock is influenced by density, while 96.49% is
influenced by other factors. The value of R = 0.1872, which means that the relationship between
density and carbon stock in the Bukit Batu estuary area, Bengkalis Regency is of low value.
