Distribusi Klorofil-A Dan Total Suspended Solid Di Perairan Muara Sungai Bukit Batu Kecamatan Bukit Batu Kabupaten Bengkalis

ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in September 2019 to determined the
chlorophyll-a concentration, TSS concentration and relationship and distribution
patterns of chlorophyll-a and TSS around Bukit Batu river estuary, Bukit Batu
District, Bengkalis Regency. Clorophyl-a and TSS from 4 Stations with 3
replication were taken from the estuary. The results showed that the chlorophyll-a
concentration ranged from 0.3847 - 0.5395 mg/l. Meanwhile, the TSS
concentration in the waters around the mouth of the Bukit Batu River has not
passed the threshold according to KEPMENLH No. 51 2004. The results of
simple linear regression indicate that chlorophyll-a and TSS have a correlation
coefficient (r) of 0.737 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.543 with the
equation y = 0.3454 + 0.0025x. The coefficient of determination (R2) shows that
the chlorophyll-a concentration of 54.3% is influenced by TSS while 45.7% is
influenced by other factors outside the chlorophyll-a and TSS variables such as
organic and inorganic waste. This shows that there is an association between the
two variables, which means that the higher the TSS value, the higher the
chlorophyll-a value.
