Penentuan Datuk Dalam Masyarakat Hukum Adat Pesukuan Luhak Kepenuhan Di Kabupaten Rokan Hulu

In determining the traditional datuk in Luhak Kepuasan, there is an election arrangement in the form of appointment. However, in this case, conflicts often occur between tribal children and nephews. Thus, in this research, the aim is to find out the system for determining datuk, and the democratic system used in determining, the traditional leadership structure in luhak kefullan, etc. and it is hoped that this research can be a reference in making regulations.
The research method used is sociological juridical research methods. This sociological research is an approach with the object of society by collecting data from library materials and interviews which aims to obtain legal knowledge empirically by going directly into the field.
So, from this research it was found that, the system for determining the traditional datuk in the traditional law community of the Luhak tribe is full, the election is carried out due to several factors, firstly, the replacement is due to the condition of the traditional datuk (age and illness), then the election is carried out by means of deliberations held at the women's homes. and the appointment/appointment process is in accordance with the descendant order of the nephew's children. Second, because the traditional datuk died, the election was carried out by determining which of the nephews would hold the body of the datuk first to clean (polu/genitals), then this was the person who would be appointed to be the next traditional datuk. It is hoped that this research can provide guidance and guidance in traditional activities in Luhak Kepuas, especially in determining the traditional datuk.
