Prarancangan Pabrik Katekol Dari Fenolproses Hidroksilasi Dengan Desain Alat Utama Distilasi (T-103)
ABSTRACT
This research aims to design a Catechol plant from Phenol using the Hydroxylation
process with the main tool design for Distillation (T-103).Catechol is a toxic organic
compound in the form of a crystalline powder that can be used as an important
intermediate in the manufacture of pesticides and medicines. The factory is planned to be
located in Cilegon, West Java, under the name PT. ALCIKA MANDIRI, and has a
production capacity of 10,000 tons/year, using distillation (T-103) as the main tool. The
establishment of this factory supports economic growth and sustainable industrialization
in Indonesia.Economic feasibility analysis shows that a catechol factory is feasible to
establish, with a Payback Period (PBP) of 2.35 years, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of
22.739%, Return on Investment (ROI) of 32.01%, and Break-Even Point (BEP)54%.
