Prarancangan Pabrik Methyl Methacrylate Dari Isobutylene Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Methyl Methacrylate is a chemical compound used in various industries such as leather coating, cosmetics, paint, household equipment, polymer, and other industries. Methyl Methacrylate is produced through the oxidation process of Isobutylene. The plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year, running continuously 24 hours per day, with a production capacity of 38,000 tons per year and will be established in Cilegon, Banten. The chosen company structure is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on a shift and non-shift division of working hours. The main equipment in this plant is a fixed-bed reactor (R-101). The economic analysis of the plant design shows that the plant is feasible to be established. Based on the results of the plant’s economic feasibility, the methyl methacrylate plant from isobutylene is viable to be built with a Payback Period (PBP) of 3.32 years, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.55%, a Return on Investment (ROI) of 30.08%, and a Break-Even Point (BEP) of 44%.
