Pemberian Bokashi Kotoran Ayam Dan Pupuk Npk Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata Sturt.)
ABSTRACT
Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) is one of the horticultural commodities with high market demand. However, its productivity in Riau Province remains low. One of the efforts to improve the growth and yield of sweet corn is through the application of both organic and inorganic fertilizers. This study aimed to determine interaction between chicken manure bokashi (organic fertilizer) and NPK (inorganic fertilizer) on the growth and yield of sweet corn, as well as to identify the best combination of treatments and to determine the correlation among the observed parameters of sweet corn plants. The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in a factorial arrangement consisting of two factors: Chicken manure bokashi (0, 10, 15, and 20 tons/ha) and NPK (250, 350, and 450 kg/ha), with each combination replicated three times. The observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, days to male and female flowering, harvest time, cob weight with and without husk per plant, and yield per plot. The results showed that the interaction between chicken manure bokashi and NPK had no significant effect on all parameters. Chicken manure bokashi significantly affected plant height, stem diameter, cob weight, and plot yield. NPK significantly affected plant height, stem diameter, and cob weight with husk. The correlation between plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves with the weight of corn cobs with husks per plant, yield per plot, and weight of corn cobs without husks per plant was very weak to moderate. The combination of 20 tons/ha chicken manure bokashi and 350 kg/ha NPK produced the best results in several yield parameters. It can be concluded that he application of 20 tons/ha of bokashi and 350 kg/ha of NPK fertilizer was an efficient dose to increase the growth and yield of sweet corn plants.
