ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the supply chain of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) and its
relationship with the welfare of independent oil palm farmers in Pagaran Tapah
Darussalam District, Rokan Hulu Regency. The method used is descriptive
quantitative with purposive sampling technique. Data sources consist of primary data
obtained through questionnaires and interviews with 50 independent farmers, as well
as secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency. The analytical tools used include
the calculation of marketing margin, farmer's share, and marketing efficiency.
The results showed that most farmers were in the medium to high welfare category,
characterized by an average net income of ±Rp350 million per year. Marketing
efficiency is achieved by farmers with direct access to mills, high margins, and
proportional farmer's share. The conclusion of this study is that supply chain efficiency
has a effect on improving farmers' welfare, so improving access to market information,
production facilities, and institutional support is needed to strengthen farmers'
position in the FFB supply chain.
