Perbedaan Polimorfisme Apai Pada Gen Reseptor Vitamin D Antara Donor Darah Dengan Hbsag Reaktif Dan Non Reaktif Di Utd Pmi Kota Pekanbaru
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a global health problem due to its
potential development into life-threatening liver disease. The development of HBV
infection can be influenced by one of the immune components, Vitamin D. The
active form of vitamin D can modulate the immune response by binding to the
vitamin D receptor (VDR). The vitamin D receptor is encoded by the VDR gene,
which has several polymorphisms, one of which is ApaI. The purpose of this study
was to determine the differences in ApaI polymorphism in the vitamin D receptor
gene between blood donors with reactive and non-reactive Hepatitis B sruface
antigen (HBsAg) at UTD PMI Pekanbaru City. The design of this research was
analytic with case-control design. This research was conducted on blood donor
samples who had been screened at UTD PMI Pekanbaru City. Examination and
identification of ApaI polymorphism was conducted in the Integrated Biomedical
Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Riau University using the Amplification
Refractory Mutation System Polymerase Chain Reaction (ARMS-PCR). The
average age of blood donors with reactive HBsAg was 40,29±10,512 years, and
blood donors with non-reactive HBsAg was 38,55±10,852 years. Men had the
highest frequency in the reactive HBsAg group (76.2%) and the non-reactive
HBsAg group (73.8%). The highest genotype frequency in all samples was
genotype aa, which was 38 (45,2%). Based on HBsAg status, the highest genotype
frequency in the reactive HBsAg group was genotype Aa (42.9%), while in the
non-reactive HBsAg group was genotype aa (50.0%). Allele a was the allele with
the highest frequency in the reactive HBsAg group (63.1%) and the non-reactive
HBsAg group (69.0%). There was no significant difference between the
distribution of the ApaI genotype (p = 0.647) and allele (p = 0.415) based on
HBsAg status.
